Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam’s concerts have been in the spotlight recently. Following the Kolkata show incident, the Kal Ho Na Ho singer performed live at Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 on March 24. However, chaos erupted when students allegedly threw stones at him, forcing him to stop midway and appeal to the crowd for better behaviour. Despite the disruption, the rest of the show proceeded smoothly, as seen in viral videos.
As per reports, stones and plastic bottles were thrown at Sonu Nigam at a Delhi concert after which the singer addressed the crowd directly, saying, “Main aapke liye aaya hoon yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye (I have come here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please don’t do this).”
The report also suggests that he expressed concern for his team, stating that they could get injured if people continued throwing objects at the stage.
Later, the singer resumed his performance once the situation was under control. Also, there is no video of him addressing stone pelting till now.
Although he shared several videos of his energetic performance on his official Instagram account, he did not mention the incident.
In February 2025, Sonu Nigam’s temper flared when the crowd kept interrupting his performance by standing instead of using the chairs provided in the Kolkata concert. Annoyed by the disruptions, Sonu remarked that if they wanted to stand, they should “stand” for elections.
In the clip shared by a fan on social media, Sonu can be heard saying, “Agar tum ko khada hona hi hain, election mein khade ho jaao yaar! Please bithao. Jaldi karo… itna time jaa raha hain mera maalum hain? Apka cut off time aa jayega phir, baithao! Jaldi baitho! Baitho! Bahar niklo! Make this space empty.” The video was quickly made to social media and added to the rail of viral moments of his shows.
