Sonu Nigam’s recent concert at Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 has been garnering attention on social media. While most videos show the chaos that erupted at the show after some attendees hurled water bottles and stones at the singer, one particular video seems to show the lighter side of the gig, wherein he donned a pink-coloured, bunny-ear hairband gifted to him by a fan. The video is going viral with fans of the singer calling him a ‘pookie’.
In an unexpected move, the 51-year-old singer donned the hairband, which was also equipped with lighting. Sonu Nigam paused his performance and quipped, “isko main ghar le jaaunga (I will take this home),” referring to the hairband. He then continued the gig with his brand new accessory on his head. Several clips of the moment made their way on social media quickly. Netizens shared the videos and labelled the singer as ‘pookie’, a term of endearment that is particularly used for something cute.
Addressing the rogue crowd, Sonu Nigam shared, “Main aapke liye aaya hun yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye.” He also added that members of his team are getting hurt in the process. Social media users are appreciating the singer for keeping calm in the tricky situation.
