Saudi Arabia, Kuwait urgently recall baby formula products: What every consumer must know

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and Public Authority for Food and Nutrition in Kuwait announced that they are withdrawing baby formula manufactured by Nutricia-Danone under the Aptamil and Bebelac brands. The recall was initiated after a voluntary notification from the company due to potential contamination with Cereulide, a substance produced by Bacillus cereus bacteria that poses a risk to infant health. According to the SFDA, exposure to Cerulide may cause symptoms within 30 minutes to six hours after consumption including nausea, frequent vomiting and abdominal pain. However, the symptoms are generally short-term and last for up to 24 hours. Here is a list of the information on the recalled batches, as per Khaleej Times:23-Jan-27
