NEW DELHI: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant paid a heartfelt tribute to Wriddhiman Saha following the veteran’s retirement from all forms of cricket.
Taking to Instagram, Pant expressed his admiration for the 40-year-old Bengal cricketer, acknowledging his exceptional wicketkeeping skills and contributions to Indian cricket.
“As a fellow keeper, I have always admired your skills and your craft.Wishing you all the success and happiness in your next chapter, Wriddhiman Saha bhai,” Pant wrote.

Saha was given a guard of honour by his Bengal teammates on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match against Punjab at Eden Gardens on Friday, marking an emotional moment in his farewell season.
A stalwart behind the stumps, Saha leaves behind an impressive legacy in Indian cricket, having represented the country in 40 Test matches and nine ODIs, amassing 1,353 international runs at an average of 29.41.
His domestic record further cements his place among the greats, with 7,169 First-Class runs at an impressive average of 48.68. Throughout his career, he notched up 14 centuries and 44 fifties, showcasing his ability to deliver crucial knocks for his team.
Saha’s contributions extended to the IPL, where he played for multiple franchises, including Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans.
His most memorable IPL performance came in the 2014 final, where he struck a century for Punjab Kings, known as Kings XI Punjab back then. He was also part of Gujarat Titans’ title-winning campaign in 2022.
Though Saha opted out of the IPL 2025 auction, he made his retirement plans clear earlier in the Ranji Trophy season, stating that this would be his final season in professional cricket.
