Reliance Jio Launches New JioHotstar Recharge Pack Ahead of IPL 2025

Reliance Jio has introduced a new recharge pack for prepaid users, giving them capped data alongside a subscription to the JioHotstar streaming platform weeks before the Indian Premier League. The new cricket pack is worth ₹100 and offers 5GB of data.

The new recharge pack is an add-on, which means it will be valid for the same number of days as the base pack. The data bundled in the pack can be used on both mobile phones and TV. Users will receive a complimentary subscription to JioHotstar’s Mobile tier, which will be valid for 90 days from the activation date.

After the user has exhausted 5GB of data, the speed will be reduced to 64Kbps. However, the consumption will happen only when the user has switched to Jio’s 4G network. As long as the user has an eligible base pack for 5G access, the data from this add-on will not be used.

Jio users planning to buy a JioHotstar subscription can consider purchasing the new add-on pack as it brings the benefits of the mobile tier, worth ₹149 for three months, for ₹100. Users also get 5GB of data as part of the plan, offering better value than the standalone JioHotstar subscription.

Reliance Jio’s prepaid users can go to the MyJio app or the Jio website to purchase the pack. Alternatively, they can use third-party platforms to buy the recharge pack.

In related news, Reliance Jio recently relaunched the ₹189 prepaid recharge pack, offering 2GB of data, unlimited calls, and 300 SMSes with a validity of 28 days. This plan was earlier available but was discontinued for unspecified reasons. Later, Jio rolled out the plan as part of its ‘value pack’ portfolio. However, this plan does not offer Jio’s 5G services, which means customers need an eligible base plan for high-speed internet.
