This is because of Varun Chakravarthy, who emerged as the star player by taking Travis Head’s wicket. Due to the same first name, some social media users took to the comment section of the actor’s social media posts to write congratulatory messages. Initially, the actor engaged with the comments but later he decided to join the joke using an AI-generated clip.
On March 5, Varun Dhawan became a superstar on social media after he uploaded a shirtless photo. However, his comment section was barraged with comments congratulating him for taking Travis Head’s wicket. The mistaken identity went so far that the cricketer himself took to the comment section to join the joke. He wrote in the comment section, “Well bowled bhaiya🙏🙂”, leaving the internet in splits.

Taking the joke a step further, Varun Dhawan pulled an unexpected stunt online. He posted a clip from the cricket match replacing Chakravarthy’s face with his own using AI tools. In the caption, the actor wrote, “Since the internet is having fun I decided to join in. All the best to the boys in blue and the other VARUN to shine bright on Sunday let’s go 🇮🇳.” For the unversed, the Indian cricket team will face New Zealand in the Champions Trophy finale on Sunday.
Varun Dhawan’s latest post has sparked a frenzy on social media. Fans of the actor applauded him in the comment section. A user wrote, “Final me 5 se jyada wicket lena”, another wrote, “So proud of you can’t wait for u to take more wickets Sunday”. A comment read, “Mystery spinner”, while another referred to the actor as, “Top tier brainrot”. The post did not miss the attention of Varun Chakravarty as well.
