NABARD projects priority sector credit potential of ₹4 .47 lakh crore for Karnataka

Of the estimated credit potential of ₹4.47 lakh crore for priority sector lending in Karnataka during 2025-26, the share of agriculture is pegged at ₹2.04 lakh crore (46%), MSME at ₹1.88 lakh crore (42%), and other priority sector activities at ₹0.56 lakh crore (12%), said KVSSLV Prasada Rao, Chief General Manager (CGM), NABARD, Karnataka Regional Office.

Speaking at the State Credit Seminar for the year 2025-26 at the regional office of NABARD in Bengaluru on February 25, he informed that NABARD has been complementing the efforts of the government of Karnataka in rural infrastructure creation by extending financial support. During the year, 298 rural infrastructure projects involving RIDF assistance of ₹2,056 crore had been sanctioned in the State. He also indicated that the Farmers Producers’ Organisations (FPOs) being promoted by NABARD in collaboration with other stakeholders have proven effective in integrating small and marginal farmers into the agri value chain and enhancing their income.

The event was chaired by Uma Mahadevan, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner (ACS&DC).
