MI squad WPL 2026: Mumbai Indians Women full players list, team squad & updates

Mumbai Indians (MI) entered the WPL 2026 mega auction as defending champions, with a clear focus on continuity and championship retention. The franchise had retained five-star players who have been instrumental in their past successes, aiming to maintain the core that has brought them titles in recent years.Leading the team is Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, retained for Rs 2.5 crore. Harmanpreet’s leadership and powerful batting have been pivotal, especially in crunch situations. England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt, a versatile all-rounder and one of the top earners in the league, is retained at Rs 3.5 crore. West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews, known for her aggressive batting and useful bowling, comes in at Rs 1.75 crore. The young Indian talents Amanjot Kaur and the uncapped G Kamalini were retained for Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively, strengthening the team’s future potential.Mumbai Indians had Rs 5.75 crore left in their purse to fill 13 remaining slots in the squad during the mega auction. With no Right to Match (RTM) options available due to the maximum player retention, the franchise planned tactical buys targeting specific roles to complement their strong retained core.

Mumbai Indians go hard for former players

Mumbai Indians, operating with a limited auction purse, still pursued their former players aggressively at the WPL 2026 auction. The franchise brought back New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr for Rs 3 crore, making her their second-costliest signing for the season. They also brought back South African pacer Shabnim Ismail and uncapped player Sanskriri Gupta, strengthening the squad across departments.
