MET Gala Regulars Blake Lively-Ryan Reynolds To Skip Event Amid Ongoing Legal Battle With Justin Baldoni

MET Gala 2025 is all set to take place on May 5. However, Hollywood’s most loved couple and event regulars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni will reportedly give this year’s gala a miss. The news comes amid the ongoing legal battle of the couple with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of the few celebrities who are often seen in attendance at the MET Gala 2025. While the actual reason for their absence remains unknown it is being said, that the lawsuit filed by Justin Baldoni is the reason behind them sitting out of MET Gala 2025. The decision comes “She’s not a Kardashian that goes every year.”

In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni and his co-producers. In retaliation, Bladoni filed a USD 400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their team. Baldoni countersued her and Reynolds, alleging that they were trying to destroy his career with false allegations. In the lawsuit, Baldoni alleged that Reynolds had berated him for allegedly “fat shaming” Blake Lively. He also accused Reynolds of calling him a “sexual predator” and of pressuring his agency, WME, to drop him as a client.
