L2 Empuraan Overseas Advance Booking Soars, Mohanlal And Prithviraj Sukumaran Starrer Earns ₹7 Crore 8 Days Before Release



L2: Empuraan is set for its grand theatrical debut on March 27. According to the talk in trade circles and buzz in the industry, the sequel to Mohanlal’s 2019 hit Lucifer is going to set cash registers ringing after it releases on the big screens. The pre-sales of the sequel in the overseas market have begun on a strong note as L2: Empuraan sets its eyes on being the biggest opener of Mohanlal’s career, both at the domestic box office and worldwide.

Mohanlal’s biggest opener at the Kerala box office is Odiyan (2018), which collected ₹7.20 crore. This is followed by Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea (2021) which opened at ₹6.60 crore, Lucifer (2019) which minted at ₹6.30 crore on day 1 and Malaikottai Vaaliban (2024) which minted ₹5.85 crore.

According to reports, L2: Empuraan is on track to become the biggest opener of Mohanlal’s sprawling career. The movie, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran has already minted ₹6-7 crore gross. It is set to become the first Mollywood title to score $1+ million bookings and with 8 days still to go for release, the bookings will be higher, Sacnilk reported. Currently, Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea is the biggest opener with around ₹20 crore gross worldwide. L2: Empuraan will beat this record by a very good margin.

The primary cast of L2E: Empuraan has Mohanlal reprising his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam aka Stephen Nedumpally, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, and Game of Thrones fame Jerome Flynn.

Additionally, Abhimanyu Singh, Andrea Tivadar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, Sachin Khedekar, Nyla Usha, Giju John, Nandhu, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Manikuttan, Aneesh G. Menon, Sshivada, Alexx O’Nell, Eriq Ebouaney, Mikhail Novikov, and Karthikeya Dev are a part of the secondary cast.
