L2 Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 1: Mohanlal Starrer Surpasses Lucifer First Weekend Worldwide Collection On Opening Day

L2 Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 1: Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer L2: Empuraan has been earning good reviews from fans after hit released on March 27. The pre-sales had crossed the ₹50 crore mark for the opening weekend, setting the stage for the film to emerge as the biggest day 1 grosser ever for a Mollywood film. As expected, first day collection of the sequel to Lucifer has been very promising.

L2: Empuraan has beaten Mohanlal’s own Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea to emerge as the biggest day 1 Malayalam grosser at the domestic box office. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film collected ₹22 crore on Thursday and is now headed towards a very strong opening weekend collection both in India and overseas.

The overseas biz of the film was more, pushing the worldwide gross collection on day 1 to around ₹65 crore. This means it has beaten the first weekend biz of its prequel Lucifer (₹55.40 crore) on its opening day alone. It has also collected more than The Goat Life first weekend worldwide biz (₹64.14 crore).

As the film continues to trend on social media and stoke fan anticipation, L2: Empuraan has also been leaked online on the day of its release.

The film is now available for streaming online in various formats, including HD, on piracy websites. The leak is expected to affect its biz in the coming days.
