L2 Empuraan Advance Booking Day 1: Earth-Shattering Opening Certain For Mohanlal Starrer Sequel, Earns ₹30 Crore So Far

L2: Empuraan Advance Booking Day 1: Mohanlal and Prithiviraj Sukumaran starrer L2: Empuraan is all set to hit the big screens on March 27. The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 release Lucifer has generated immense excitement and has sold the maximum number of tickets on BookMyShow in the first 24 hours of its tickets going live. The film has generated equal buzz overseas, with collections of pre-sales touching ₹20 crore already.

The advance booking of L2: Empuraan opened on March 21 and the Malayalam film has already collected ₹10 crore in India. Including fan shows, the number touched ₹12 crore. With ₹20 crore in pre-sales abroad, the Mollywood sequel has already minted ₹30 crore with five days to release. With this, L2: Empuraan will become the biggest Mollywood opener with just pre-sales. The record for the highest day 1 collection for a Malayalam film at the domestic box office is held by Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea (₹20 crore) and L2: Empuraan is certain to beat that.

Moreover, trade experts have predicted that if the reviews of the film are good, then it’s certain to become the biggest Mollywood grosser of all time, beating Manjummel Boys, which minted over ₹240 crore gross.

According to Sacnilk, the advance booking trend of L2: Empuraan and the positive talk surrounding the film indicates that it is set to open with ₹50 crore gross worldwide which will be a big feat for a small film industry like Mollywood.

The movie stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab’raam / Stephen Nedumpally, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Sachin Khedekar. Prithviraj has directed the big-budget political thriller. It is scheduled to be released on March 27 in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages.
