Seems like controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun is not going to diffuse anytime soon. The anger is raging among netizens day by day and are demanding to be boycotted for dating late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Luxury brand Prada has removed the It’s Okay To Not Be Okay actor as their ambassador. The brand has even issued statement in regard to this matter.
Amid these allegations, as per report of Soompi, a representative from Prada Korea stated that they have considering the gravity of the issue and the decision was made at the headquarters level and now currently the contract stands terminated.
He was appointed as Prada ambassador in December last year. Even Homeplus, a national supermarket chain in South Korea has removed his image infront of their office. Several pictures and videos of removing hoardings are going viral on social media.
Netizens took to comment section and expressed their views. One user wrote, “Downfall era’. Another user wrote, ”He was being praised last year around the same month, what a twist”. “I just hope that this doesnt get blown over we need to actually start taking this stuff seriously. Grooming is a terrible thing”, wrote the third user.
Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medallist recently released another statement. They stated that, “We would like to address the event content regarding Kim Soo Hyun that was broadcast on YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. GOLDMEDALIST will clarify the facts and respond to the baseless rumors by presenting a clear and substantiated position next week.
They further stated that, “We sincerely apologize for causing prolonged fatigue and ask for your understanding as we aim to prevent further ongoing reports.Thank you.”
Recently, during an appearance on YouTube channel, late actress Kim Sae Ron’s aunt made serious allegation against the Queen of Tears actor saying that the duo were dating when the Kim Sae Ron was only a minor , 15 and Kim Soo Hyun was 27 then. Since, then, the South Korean star has been come under fire and calls for boycott are rising day by day. Kim Sae Ron was found dead in her Seoul apartment on February 16.
