Karthi’s Sardar 2 has been one or the most talked about sequels in recent years. The film is currently in the pre-production stage. However, the film’s plot has been widely circulated on social media. However, in a recent incident, the actor has reportedly suffered a leg injury while he was filming for his upcoming project.
According to several media reports, Karthi has suffered a swelling in leg while shooting for Sardar 2 in Mysore. Reportedly, due to this the shooting had to be halted and now he is in Chennai. The Ponniyin Selvan actor has been advised for complete bed rest. As per reports, 80 per cent of the film has been completed and the team will soon return back to the sets after Karthi gets better.
Sardar 2 is helmed by PS Mithran and written by Rathna Kumar- PS Mithran. As per IMDb, the film will feature Karthi, SJ Suryah, Sivakarthikeyan, Malavika Mohan, Ashika Ranganath and Vishal among others.
The first part of Sardar, directed by PS Mithran, tells the story of a disgraced spy (Karthi) who returns from a long exile to prevent the launch of a suspicious company that plans to spread toxic water throughout the country. The film received a positive reception from both audiences and critics, who praised the actor’s transformation as well as the film’s fresh screenplay.
Karthi was last seen in Meiyazhagan in 2024 in which he starred alongside Arvind Swamy. The film was loved by audience for its brilliant storyline and performance by the cast. Apart from the duo, the film also featured Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, and Rajkumar among others. Karthi also made a cameo appearance in his brother’s film Kanguva in 2024. He played the dual roles- Rathaangasan and Commander Ryan.
