Kangana Ranaut-Javed Akhtar RESOLVE Their 5-year-long Defamation Case, Lyricist Agrees To Write Songs For Actress’ Next Film

Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar have finally called it a truce after a 5-year-long legal battle. The Emergency actress took to her social media to announce the same and shared that the veteran lyricist has agreed to write a song for the actress’ next directorial.

Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar came together for mediation and resolve their dispute

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana shared a picture happily posing with legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar. On the image, she wrote, “Today Javed ji and I have resolved our legal matter (defamation case) through mediation, in the mediation Javed ji has been very kind and gracious, he also ‘ agreed to write songs for my next directorial.”

Earlier today, the actress was snapped outside a Mumbai court, donning a pink saree to resolve the matter. The court had granted a “last chance” to the actress before issuing a non-bailable warrant against her as she skipped a mediation meeting with Javed Akhtar.

The legal battle traces back to when in 2020 Kangana during an interview, following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, she publicly claimed that Javed Akhtar asked to apologise to Hrithik Roshan . This didn’t go down well with Akhtar and he filed a defamation case against Kangana. The legal dispute escalated and the actress countered with a complaint, accusing Akhtar of pressurising to apologise to the Roshans.

For the unversed, in March 2016, Akhtar had allegedly invited the actress to his residence to resolve an issue she had with Hrithik over a controversy regarding emails that later escalated into a public feud.
