IPL: Bharat Arun set to join LSG as bowling coach

Kolkata:Bharat Arun is all set to take over as the bowling coach of India Premier League (IPL) side Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), sources revealed to TOI on Wednesday.The highly experienced Arun had parted ways with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recently, following the three-year stint with the three-time IPL champions.“LSG have their coaching staff in place, apart from one in the bowling department. Arun fits the bill perfectly,” the source said.Meanwhile, former India pacer Zaheer Khan is the LSG mentor. While Australian Justin Langer is the head coach, South African Lance Klusener is the assistant coach.Arun, who was with KKR since 2022, has served as Team India bowling coach in two stints. The former medium-pacer has played in two Test matches for India, picking up four wickets. He had a solitary wicket in four ODIs for the national team.

On Tuesday, KKR had announced that they are parting ways with head coach Chandrakant Pandit and Arun. In the post in social media, KKR said that the decision was mutual.KKR had finished seventh in the IPL seasons of 2022 and 2023. Although they were champions in 2024, their success was largely credited to mento Gautam Gambhir. They finished eighth this year.
