IndiGo raises fuel charges on domestic, international flights as ATF prices climb

IndiGo hikes fuel charges on domestic and international routes as rising aviation turbine fuel costs add to airline operating expenses

Indian airline IndiGo will increase fuel charges on both domestic and international routes as rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) costs put pressure on operating expenses.

The airline has revised fuel charges on domestic flights upwards by Rs 375 to Rs 1,300, depending on the route.

For international flights, the increase will range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000, according to the airline.

The move comes amid rising aviation fuel costs, which account for a significant share of airlines’ operating expenses and can directly affect airfares.

The higher fuel charges are likely to increase the overall cost of air travel for passengers, particularly on longer international routes.

IndiGo is India’s largest airline by domestic market share and operates an extensive network of domestic and international flights.
