India 'torturing' Pakistan through match referee: Ex-player uses distasteful language for Suryakumar Yadav

Former Pakistan batter Yousuf Youhana, who later changed name to Mohammad Yousuf, used disrespectful language and joked about India captain Suryakumar Yadav’s name as part of a panel discussion. The 51-year-old also stated the Indian cricket board was using its power to dictate things with officials, using the recent Asia Cup handshake row as an example.“India are unable to get out of their filmy world. More than the game itself, which was a walk in the park for Suryakumar & Co., the drama since has grabbed headlines.On Tuesday, International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) demand to remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the Asia Cup officiating panel, despite PCB’s reported threat of withdrawing from the tournament. The controversy emerged after Pakistan blamed Pycroft for the “no handshake” incident during their match against India on Sunday.PCB filed a complaint with the ICC claiming that Pycroft instructed Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav during the toss.Pycroft, the 69-year-old Zimbabwean official with 695 international games experience, is scheduled to officiate Pakistan’s final group stage match against UAE on Wednesday.Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema also complained to the Asian Cricket Council, stating that Pycroft prevented the customary exchange of team sheets between the captains.The Indian team chose not to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts, showing respect for the Pahalgam terror attack victims and their families.
