NEW DELHI: India U19 captain Ayush Mhatre will lead the side on a challenging multi-format tour of Australia starting September 21, with prodigious 14-year-old batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi also included after his sensational performances in England.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!The Junior Selection Committee announced the squad for the five-match tour, which will see India play three Youth ODIs and two multi-day games against Australia U19. The squad carries forward the core of the team that toured England in July and impressed in both formats.Mhatre, who led from the front in England, was the standout performer in the two-match Youth Test series, finishing as the top run-scorer across both teams. He amassed 340 runs in just four innings, including two centuries and a fifty. Under his leadership, India drew the Test series 0-0 and edged the ODI leg 3-2.

One of the biggest talking points remains the inclusion of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who took the Youth ODI series by storm in England. The 14-year-old piled up 355 runs, including the fastest century in Youth ODI history, drawing comparisons with some of the game’s youngest stars.Mhatre will be supported by vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra, another consistent contributor on the England tour. Malhotra scored 243 runs in ODIs and 277 runs in Tests, further cementing his status as a dependable all-format batter.With both in-form leaders and a record-breaking prodigy in their ranks, the Indian U19 team heads to Australia high on confidence and expectations.
