How Bollywood Shattered Sunita Ahuja’s Dream Of A Normal Life, Family: Never Got To See Govinda’s Face…

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja stirred divorce rumours as reports suggested that the couple, who has been married for 37 years and share two kids, is headed for a split. In a recent interview, the wife of one of the most popular Bollywood stars in the 90s and 2000s shared that they have been living separately. Reports claimed that Sunita has filed for separation and has also dispatched a legal document pertaining to the matter.

However, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha stated that the reports of the actor’s wife Sunita filing for separation are being floated to gain the mileage of public attention. Sinha confirmed that a legal notice has been issued by Sunita but Govinda is yet to receive it. Amid these, the actor and his love story with Sunita have evoked curiosity.

Sunita Ahuja told Hindi Rush that she met Govinda when she was 15-16 and her family member introduced the two. They fell in love and married. Sunita shared that they kept their wedding a secret for over a year as there was the notion that married actors lose fans. Soon after they made their relationship public, their daughter Tina was born.

Sunita shared that she had simple dreams for her home and family after her marriage but her union with Govinda changed everything. “I wanted to step out and eat pani puri and watch movie with my husband and travel, but we could not do that as he was very popular.” She also touched upon how Govinda used to be away from home shooting and they barely saw each other. However, she also shared that she and the kids also accompanied the actor during outdoor locations in India and abroad to spend time with them, but he was mostly busy with work. “We never got to see his face. The 2-4 hours he used to be home to rest was the only time we saw him. Tina was also born that time. I was focused on her upbringing. I never noticed him around and how time passed,” Sunita shared.

Talking about balancing Govinda’s work-Iife with the family responsibility, Sunita said, “I gave my hundred percent to my kids. I never asked the servants to bring them up. My two kids are very close to me. This is how they will also give the most to their kids. My mother-in-law was very helpful. Every woman was into some business but I could not focus on it. We wanted to protect our kids. I am a very family oriented woman. I am very close to my mother-in-law. She taught me how to be religious. She never said no to me for anything. We never fought. I followed what she said. I learned how to cook as Govinda was a foodie. The whole family used to live with us and I cooked for all of them.”
