Hindalco Industries, a leading copper and aluminium player, announces investment of ₹45,000 crore in its copper, aluminium and speciality aluminium business, said the Chairperson of Aditya Birla Group, Kumaramangalam Birla at an event in Mumbai while the unveiling its new logo and identity as an engineering solutions provider.
The announcement assumes significance as the copper and aluminium company had announced to invest $4-5 billion in aluminium and copper upstream projects, its second quarter results presentation.
“So, we have announced the Rs. 45,000 crore investment. Both upstream, aluminium downstream, copper and speciality. So, we are going to do a copper smelter, an aluminium smelter, an alumina refinery, a copper recycling plant, a fused alumina plant, aluminium foil, copper foil. So, a mix of both upstream and downstream is the investment that we are going to do over the next three to four years,” said Satish Pai Managing Director of Hindalco Industries while speaking on the sidelines.
