NEW DELHI:Hardik Pandya will check-in at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on Tuesday for assessment and deciding future course of action. The star all-rounder injured his left quadricep during the Asia Cup 2025 match vs Sri Lanka and had to miss the title clash vs Pakistan last month. Pandya was not in a position to take the field for the tense clash and was advised to rest by the BCCI medical team. The initial timeline of recovery was around four-six weeks and we will get more clarity after he undergoes thorough assessment in Bengaluru. He had to miss the tour of Australia – both ODIs and T20Is – due to the injury but at this stage there is no need for any surgery and he could well come back to action next month. In the six Asia Cup games, Pandya picked four wickets and played a useful 38-run knock vs Bangladesh.

Poll

Do you think Hardik Pandya will return to action next month?

The injury to the premier all-rounder meant India drafted Nitish Kumar Reddy into the squad and it will be interesting to see how the youngster fares Down Under. He had a good time in the Border Gavaskar Trophy last year and would look to do the same this month. The Indian team will be leaving for Australia tomorrow and while Virat Kohli has already reached Delhi to join the squad, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer are expected to arrive later in the day.
