Govinda’s Secretary Shashi Prabhu Dies Of Cardiac Arrest, Actor Consoles Grieving Family

Actor Govinda suffered a massive personal loss after his secretary, Shashi Prabhu. The duo had collaborated for a long time. He passed away on March 6 at the age of 62. Prabhu had a strong relationship with the Ahuja family.

Speaking to journalist Vickey Lalwani, Sinha shared “Shashi Prabhu has passed away. Prabhu had a cardiac problem and had undergone surgery four days ago. Today he fell in the bathroom and when his family and friends picked him up, he was not responding at all.” Upon learning of the demise, Govinda rushed to the family’s aide. He met with the family of the departed and consoled them in the tough times.

The news of his secretary’s passing comes amid rumours of his divorce with wife Sunita, with whom he has been married for over 37 years. Several media reports claimed that the couple is headed towards splitsville, and the actor’s closeness to one of his co-stars is the reason behind the same. However, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha debunked rumours of his separation from his wife Sunita. “Govinda ji doesn’t want to comment on the rumours. He is busy working on his two home production films. He is upset with the way things have come out. It’s disheartening,” Sinha told PTI. There is no friction, just a difference of opinion between the couple, he added.

“It is regarding the work he is doing under his home production banner. Sunita ji wants him to make choices wisely,” Sinha said. Family lawyer Lalit Bindal also addressed the rumours that the couple had been living separately for years. “It is not like that they live separately. You take any minister or politician. They have an official bungalow. Same is the case with Govinda. He has a flat directly opposite his bungalow…Many politicians and film stars come over for meetings so he stays in the official bungalow… And this has been the case since 2004,” he said.
