Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead at his New York City house on Wednesday, February 26, per AP. Soon after the news broke, her Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively penned a lengthy note paying tribute to the actress. In her note, Lively recalled Trachtenberg’s vibrant personality. Not just Lively, Gossip Girl‘s other co-stars Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford have also penned emotional notes to express grief.
Michelle Trachtenberg was best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000–2003) as Dawn Summers and Gossip Girl where she played the role of Georgina Sparks.
Blake Lively calls Michelle Trachtenberg ‘big and distinctly herself’
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Lively shared a photo from the set and started her note by recalling the day she met Trachtenberg. “This is the first day I Met Michelle. She was electricity. You knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed. Everything she did, she did 200%. She laughed the fullest at someone’s joke, she faced authority head-on when she felt something was wrong, she cared deeply about her work.”
Lively further described her personality as big, bold and distinctly herself. She was “fiercely” loyal to her friends and brave for those she loved. “She was a kind person, through and through,” Lively recalled. Towards the end of her note, she urged her fans to hold on to their love and dear ones.
Ed Westwick remembers ‘talented, sharp, funny and warm soul’
Ed Westwick, who portrayed Chuck Bass in the series, shared a photo of Trachtenberg on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “So sad to hear of the passing of @michelletrachtenberg. Sending prayers,” along with a prayer hand and white heart emoticon.
Chace Crawford, who played Nate Archibald, took to his Instagram and shared a set of three photos and wrote, “Michelle was one of a kind. I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it. She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic.. remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you.”

Police responded to a 911 call shortly after 8 AM in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood where officers found the actress “unconscious and unresponsive,” according to an NYPD statement. “The family requests privacy for their loss,” Trachtenberg’s representative, Gary Mantoosh, said in a statement Wednesday. It was reported that Tranchtenberg underwent a liver transplant recently and might have faced complications. However, police have not found any foul play as of yet.
