US President Donald Trump on Wednesday brushed aside renewed demands to release additional Jeffrey Epstein files, dismissing the effort as a political distraction from his record in office.“This is a Democratic hoax that never ends,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about the Epstein records.“From what I understand, thousands of pages of documents have been given. But it’s really a Democrat hoax. Because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to the success we’ve had as a nation since I’ve been president,” Trump said, according to NBC News.He added, “So what they are trying to do with the Epstein hoax is get people to talk about that instead of speaking about the tremendous success I’ve had like ending seven wars.”Trump made the remarks during an Oval Office meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, who chose Washington for his first foreign trip since taking office. The talks focused on the war in Ukraine.Nawrocki, a nationalist historian and longtime Trump ally, campaigned with the former president’s endorsement during Poland’s election. The White House marked his arrival with a flyover honoring a Polish F-16 pilot who died last week while preparing for an air show.At the same time, Reps Thomas Massie, Ro Khanna, and Marjorie Taylor Greene held a news conference alongside Epstein accusers. The lawmakers are pushing for a House vote to force the Trump administration to release more unclassified files, following Tuesday’s publication of more than 33,000 pages of documents and videos tied to Epstein’s sex-trafficking case.
