County Championship: Yuzvendra Chahal and Khaleel Ahmed goes wicketless, Tilak Varma holds fort for Hampshire

It has been mixed outings for the Indian cricketers in the ongoing County Championship.Yuzvendra Chahal, playing for Northamptonshire, and Khaleel Ahmed, who is plying his trade for Essex, have had poor outings with the ball as they went wicketless.Meanwhile, Tilak Varma has shown application with the bat, while Ishan Kishan is yet to bat.

Essex vs Yorkshire

Left-arm quick Khaleel Ahmed, who has signed a deal with Essex for the remainder of the County Championship and the entirety of the One-Day Cup, had a poor outing with the ball.The 27-year-old conceded 40 runs from his nine overs against Yorkshire.Batting first, Essex scored 368. In reply, Yorkshire are 143 for 3 at stumps on Day 2.

Kent vs Northamptonshire

Veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal had a nightmarish outing for Northamptonshire during their ongoing match against Kent. This is Chahal’s third successive summer in county cricket.Chahal bowled 42 overs, conceded 129 runs, and went wicketless.

Worcestershire vs Hampshire

Fresh from his century on his County debut, Tilak Varma is again holding fort for Hampshire.Worcestershire declared their first innings on 679 for 7.In reply, Hampshire are tottering at 68 for 3. Tilak is batting on 10, with his captain Ben Brown giving him company.

Somerset vs Nottinghamshire

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is yet to bat for Nottinghamshire. Somerset were bowled out for 379 runs in their first innings. In reply, Nottinghamshire were 214 for 3 at stumps.
