Comedian Darshan Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Raping Minor



Dwarf comedian Darshan, best known for his YouTube videos, was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. A Haryana court sentenced the jail time to the comedian for raping a minor. As per reports, the victim’s mother filed a complaint against the comedian in September 2020.

The victim’s lawyer Rekha Mittal revealed more chilling details of the case. To legitimize his crime, Darshan tried to falsify documents to prove that the victim was an adult. As per Money Control, Mittal also alleged that the comedian coerced the victim into getting married to him, motivated by further exploring her. 

Additionally, the court has also mandated a ₹2,00,000 compensation to the victim, intended to provide some relief after the severe trauma.
