Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 10 Early Estimates: Vicky Starrer Eyes Historic ₹50 Crore Single-Day Biz On 2nd Sunday

Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 10 Early Estimates: Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer historical film Chhaava, based on the life and valour of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is doing great business at the box office after releasing on February 14. The action drama made the most of its ₹30 crore plus opening day biz and crossed the ₹200 crore mark by its first week. In its second weekend now, it will cross the ₹300 crore mark in India, with an outside chance of minting ₹50 crore on Sunday, February 23.

Chhaava started out performing well in regions of Maharashtra but with good word of mouth and positive reviews, the business grew in other markets as well. The movie is poised to cross the ₹300 crore mark on its second Sunday on February 23 and is looking to collect ₹50 crore or plus. If it happens, Chhaava will become the first Bollywood film to collect ₹50 crore in a single day in its second weekend. The record to beat, however, is of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which minted ₹54 crore on its second Sunday in Hindi alone.

Other Hindi releases that performed well on their respective second Sunday are Stree 2 (₹42.4 crore), Gadar 2 (₹38.9 crore), Baahubali 2 (₹34.5 crore), Jawan (₹34.26 crore) and Animal (₹33.53 crore).

There is political support for the film from the ruling party which was helping collections in Maharashtra but now this has spread into other areas as well. Goa and Madhya Pradesh administrations have already declared the film tax-free and other regions may soon follow suit.

In just nine days, Chhaava collected over ₹286 crore, officially making it Vicky Kaushal’s biggest hit. It has already surpassed Uri: The Surgical Strike (₹244.14 crore) and is expected to set new benchmarks at the box office.
