Brampton man, possibly of Indian-origin, killed in parking lot shooting; cops had to break in window

A 25-year-old Brampton man was killed while he was sitting inside his car in what cops think was a targeted shooting att a parking lot. The name of the victim has not been released but according to social media chatter, the person is possibly of Indian-origin and fell victim to a gang war. Peel police responded to the intersection of Hurontario Street and Bartley Bull Parkway in Brampton shortly after 7 p.m., after reports that gunshots were fired at a vehicle, officers said in a post on X.Peel police constable Mandeep Khatra said that when they arrived at the spot, the victim was unresponsive, alone in the car. The suspects already left the scene. Officers broke one of the vehicle’s windows in an effort to provide life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.“What’s happened here is terrible, but at the same time, we’re glad that nobody else was hurt in this incident. But I can assure you that investigators are going to be working on this nonstop until they can try to figure out further leads,” said Khatra.
