Ayan Mukerji’s Father Dies: Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt Rush To Mumbai, Kajol Arrive At Cousin’s Residence To Pay Last Respects



Director Ayan Mukerji’s father Deb Mukherjee breathed his last on March 14. He was 83 and passed away due to age-releated illness. As soon as the news of his demise surfaced, good friends of the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani filmmaker and members of the industry came together to pay their last respects.

Alia Bhatt turns 31 years old tomorrow, March 15. To celebrate her birthday as well as Holi (on March 14), Ranbir Kapoor and the actress left Mumbai for a quiet getaway in Alibaug. However, their trip was cut short when the couple was informed about the demise of Ayan Mukerji’s father.

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the closest friends of Ayan Mukerji and is often seen with him. The actor has also featured in his directorial Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Wake Up Sid and Brahmastra (which also starred Alia Bhatt). Ayan was also one of the select few industry members who made it to the couple’s wedding in April 2022. He also often accompanies them during their vacations and family events.

Ayan Mukerji’s cousin Kajol also arrived at his residence to pay her last respects to her uncle. The filmmaker is the actress’ paternal, second cousin. Ayan is also the cousin of actress Rani Mukerji. 

 Deb Mukherjee breathed his last of age-related illness. He belongs to a renowned film family. The 83-year-old held from Kanpur. He was the nephew of legends like Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar. Deb’s brother was married to veteran actress Tanuja. This makes Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee his nieces.
 

His daughter Sunita is married to filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. He is also related to actress Rani Mukherjee. Mukherjee’s last rites and funeral will be held on March 14 at Pawan Hans crematorium. Bollywood actors like Hrithik Roshan Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra are expected to be in attendance.
