Awarapan 2 X Review: Emraan Hashmi starrer has finally hit the theatres today, August 14. The early goers are singing praises for the movie, lauding director Nitin Kakkar for doing justice to the franchise. They are also lauding Emraan for his acting, but believe that he was single-handedly carrying the movie on his shoulders. There is no mention of Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in the reviews.
Soon after watching the movie, they took to social media to share their reviews. Some were so eager to encourage others that they wrote a review of the first half of the movie. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the film a “hit” and called Emraan the soul of Awarapan 2. He detailed that the film has mass-appealing moments, nostalgic value and epic action sequences. He also pointed out the action scenes he liked the most.
“What stands out most about #Awarapan2 is Shivam’s story – this time, his bond with a child takes centre stage… The narrative takes a completely different path, with action pieces generously sprinkled across the proceedings. Writers #BilalSiddiqui and #VisheshBhatt ensure that the backbone of the story – #ShivamPandit – remains the focal point… The writers also know when to hold back and when to hit hard, resulting in several sequences that genuinely stay with you,” an excerpt from the review reads.
A fan wrote, “#Awarapan2 takes the emotional DNA of the cult original and gives it a larger, more commercial canvas. Nitin Kakkar understands the franchise’s recall value, using nostalgia sparingly while building a fresh conflict around Shivam Pandit. The child-centric emotional thread adds heart, while the action quotient ensures the film remains firmly theatrical. Emraan Hashmi is the undisputed strength of the film.”
Another fan wrote, “Nineteen years of waiting, and boss, it was worth every single second! #Awarapan2 brings back the gold-standard era of Bollywood romantic action—complete with hard-hitting dialogue baazi, heavy tragic romance, and pure cinematic heroism. The moment #EmraanHashmi walks onto the screen as Shivam Pandit, single screens will literally turn into chaotic stadiums!”
“The scene in #Awarapan2 with monks saving Shivam once again and #TeraMeraRishta in the background is pure GOOSEBUMPS!” a fan wrote.
Produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films, the film is a sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. The soundtrack (which holds the core of the film) has been composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Mallik, Akhil Sachdeva, and Wasif Ahmad, with lyrics written by Rashmi Virag, Sayeed Quadri, Akhil Sachdeva, and Sachin Urmtosh. The film score is composed by Raju Singh.
