Anupam Kher Questions Elon Musk After His X Account Gets Locked: Absurd, Which Post Of Mine Violated Your Rules?

Anupam Kher faced a minor setback with regard to his social media account. The actor’s X (formerly Twitter) account was locked due to complaints regarding ‘copyright violation’. However, the account was restored later and he made a note of the issue seeking answers directly from the X owner- Elon Musk.

On February 24, Anupam Kher took to X to share that his account had been locked temporarily. He stressed that he has been using the platform for the last 18 years and has never faced such a challenge. The 69-year-old actor has 20.5 million followers on the social media account and actively voices his opinions and interacts with fans on the platform.

Seeking answers on the issue, Anupam Kher wrote, “Dear X! Even though my account has been restored I was surprised to see it locked. I have been on this platform since September 2007. Have always been mindful of rules of #X (formerly Twitter). Or for that matter any social media copyright rules.” He called the situation ‘absurd’ and tagging Elon Musk posed the question, “Would love to know which post of mine did violate your rules? Thanks! @elonmusk”.

In the post shared by the actor, he also attached a screenshot of the message prompt received from X justifying his account being locked. The message read, “Your account has been locked because X received a compliant Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notice for content posted to your X account.” It also stated, “Under the DMCA, copyright owners can notify X claiming that a user has infringed their copyrighted works. Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, X will remove the identified material.”
