After Jio, Airtel and Vi Roll Out Recharge Plans With JioHotstar Subscription Ahead of IPL 2025

Days after Reliance Jio unveiled offers for mobile and broadband users to enjoy the upcoming cricketing season, Airtel and Vi (formerly Vodafone Idea) have announced similar recharge plans. New add-on packs from both telecom companies will provide mobile users with complimentary access to JioHotstar to stream the entire Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2025 tournament starting March 27. The bundled subscription will also let them stream other eligible content such as movies, TV shows, and documentaries.

India’s second-largest telecom company has launched a new ₹100 add-on pack that brings 5GB of data and a JioHotstar subscription, valid for 30 days. While JioHotstar’s subscription tier is unclear, Airtel says customers can stream matches on both mobile phones and televisions. Another plan from Airtel that gives access to JioHotstar costs ₹195, topping up the account with 15GB of 4G data for a validity of 90 days. Both plans do not offer any voice benefits, though.

Much like Airtel, Vi’s new add-on packs offer capped data and a JioHotstar subscription. The new ₹101 pack brings three months of JioHotstar subscription along with 5GB of data. It is valid for 30 days and needs a base pack on the number. In other words, Vi’s prepaid users purchasing this plan should already have a regular recharge pack activated on their number. The next pack costs ₹239, which offers unlimited calls, 2GB of data, 300 SMS, and JioHotstar access for 28 days. At a slightly higher price, the Vi ₹399 pack brings unlimited voice calls, 2GB daily data, 100 SMS daily SMS, and a JioHotstar subscription. These two plans, however, do not need users to have a base plan.

Earlier this week, Reliance Jio announced its prepaid, postpaid, and broadband customers can enjoy unlimited access to JioHotstar ahead of the cricketing season. While mobile users need a recharge pack worth ₹239 or higher to get the benefit, Jio Fiber and Jio AirFiber customers can join the ongoing free trial service for complimentary access to the streaming platform, which was announced recently as JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar merged their services in India.
