The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has seen its fair share of viral moments this season, but none quite as glamorous as this. Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has been gifted a customised 24-carat gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro, making headlines and sparking envy among his teammates.

This extravagant gesture comes shortly after Karachi Kings made headlines for their quirky rewards — gifting a hairdryer to England’s James Vince and a beard trimmer to Hasan Ali for standout performances.

Lahore Qalandars shared a slick unboxing video on their official social media handles, which has since gone viral. The caption read: “The iPhone has landed. Our Captain Qalandar receives a gift he’s worthy of. A custom 24K Gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro, made just for Lahore Qalandars’ main man, Shaheen!”

The video captures Afridi receiving the luxurious gift with a surprised smile, exclaiming “Ye heavy hai (This is heavy)” as he walks off the field holding the phone. His teammates, particularly fast bowler Haris Rauf, couldn’t hide their playful jealousy. Rauf quipped, “No brother, this is unfair,” drawing laughs and further fan attention to the viral moment.
Who’s that IPL player?
However, Lahore Qalandars’ golden gift to Shaheen Afridi has clearly upped the ante. It also reflects the franchise’s admiration for their skipper. This gold-plated surprise has undoubtedly added another layer of sparkle to the league’s vibrant entertainment.
