Director Ashutosh Gowariker hosted the wedding reception of his and Sunita’s son Konark Gowariker and Niyati Kanakia in Mumbai on Sunday. Some of the actors who have worked with Gowariker in the past, producers and other celebrities arrived to bless the newly married couple. Aamir Khan, who worked with Gowariker in the 2001 hit Lagaan and Pooja Hegde, who made her Bollywood debut with the director’s film Mohenjo Daro (2016) made dazzling appearances.
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, Chunky Pandey, Sonali Bendre and her husband Goldie Behl, Kiran Rao, Deepak Tijori, Raj Zutshi and others walked the red carpet in style. Kiran, who was an AD on Gowariker’s 2001 hit film Lagaan which also holds the honour of being a Hindi film with an Oscar nomination, was seen at the director’s son’s wedding reception with Nupur Shikhare. Others arrived with their partners and family members.
The families of the newlyweds, including Ashutosh and Sunita, wore coordinated white traditional ensembles as heavens blessed the Konark and Niyati. The bride looked stunning in a embroidered lehenga with a splash of peach in the dupatta. She wore heavy jewelry and flashed her bright smile for the cameras.
The groom complemented her in a sherwani. They posed with their families in timeless photos and later met the guests at the party. They got wed in an intimate ceremony on March 1 in Mumbai, Ashutosh Gowariker and his wife had also sent an invite to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the wedding. The PM accepted the invite.

He has worked as an assistant director in his father Ashutosh Gowariker’s popular films like Everest and Mohenjo Daro. He is also credited as a co-producer Toolsidas Junior, starring Rajiv Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Moreover, he has also directed some ad commercials in his journey in the film industry.
