Is Mammootty Diagnosed With Cancer? 73-year-old Actor’s Team Calls Rumours Fake: He’s On Vacation Because…



Mammootty has been in the news after rumours regarding his health surfaced on the internet. It was reported that the veteran actor has been diagnosed with cancer, owing to which he has been keeping low. However, his team has now addressed the rumours calling them fake. The team shared that the actor has taken a break from work due to the ongoing festival, Ramadan.

Mammootty’s representative issued a statement to Mid-day, clarifying that the news is “fake” and the actor is on a vacation as he is observing fast for Ramzan. After the festival, he will resume the shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s directorial which also stars Mohanlal. “It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break, he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal,” said the actor’s team.

Tentatively titled MMMN, the movie marks Mammootty and Mohanlal’s first film together after 16 years. Earlier, they were seen sharing screenspace together in Twenty:20 (2008). Apart from the two Malayalam stalwarts, the movie also stars Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban in pivotal roles. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the movie.

Meanwhile, the 73-year-old actor is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming movie Bazooka. The action thriller drama, helmed by Deeno Dennis, follows a story about a cop and a businessman who team up on a mission to capture a serial killer, using a series of elaborate games to track him down. Apart from Mammootty, the movie stars an ensemble cast, including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Babu Antony, Neeta Pillai and Khalid Rahman. The film’s music is composed by Saeed Abbas. Bazooka is scheduled to release on April 10.
