Samay Raina Unfiltered Delhi Show Cancelled Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy, BookMyShow Assures Refunds

Comedian Samay Raina was scheduled to perform at Delhi’s Talkatora stadium on March 21 and March 23. Both the shows were sold out with tickets starting from Rs 1000. However, days before the show, the ticketing app notified the attendees about its cancellation.

Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent courted controversy after an episode featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchalani, Apoorva Mukhija and Gursimran was aired. In the episodes, the panellists made lewd, perverted comments on parental intercourse that sparked nationwide outrage. As a result, Samay Raina, along with other guests who appeared on the show were summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell.

While BookMyShow has not stated the reason behind the cancelling of the show, it appears to be because of India’s Got Latent row. The message from the ticketing app read, “Samay Raina Unfiltered – Talkatora Stadium Show scheduled on Sun Mar/23/2025 07:30 PM has been cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.” The message also stated that those who had booked the tickets would be getting a refund within 10 working days.

The message of Delhi’s show cancellation comes days after it was reported that the comedian’s shows in Gujarat have also been called off. The Vishva Hindu Parishad said tickets for Samay Raina’s shows, scheduled in April, were no longer available for sale on BookMyShow. Guwahati Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput said Samay had planned four shows in the state, starting from Surat on April 17, followed by a show in Vadodara on April 18. The last two shows were scheduled in Ahmedabad on April 19 and 20.

“It appears all these four shows have been cancelled due to public outrage against him in Gujarat. Though tickets for these shows were available till morning (of Wednesday) on BookMyShow, it seems they have been now taken down from the portal,” claimed Rajput. In a statement, VHP regional secretary Ashvin Patel claimed organisers have decided to cancel these shows due to the recent controversy.
