EXCLUSIVE | John Abraham Shares Big Update On Pathaan 2: My Character Is…



John Abraham left a lasting impression in the role of Jim, the antagonist 2023 action movie Pathaan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film minted ₹ 543.09 Cr at the domestic box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies ever. Pathaan featured John as a former RAW agent and in a never-seen-before role of the villain. In an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network, the actor, who is basking in the success of his recent release The Diplomat, shared a big update on the possibility of his return to the YRF actioner.

Recently, social media has been buzzing in anticipation of the sequel to Pathaan. While no official announcement has been made, several media reports suggest that the shoot for the film will begin in 2026. For the uninitiated, the 2023 action movie Pathaan ended with John Abraham’s character Jim’s death after a thrilling climax combat scene. Amid this, John Abraham shares crucial information about the actioner.

When asked about an update on the Siddharth Anand’s directorial, John simply said, “I don’t know if there is a Pathaan 2. There will be Shahrukh Khan, because he is Pathaan. My character is Jim. So, we would hope for a film about Jim. There is no update on that.” While the actor gave significant clarity, his fans are waiting to see him in the role of an antagonist again.

In the same conversation, the Jism actor also shared a candid response on nepotism and whether it has affected him. John Abraham clarified that he has no problem with nepotism and has never faced any problems in industry because of it. He said, “A doctor’s son can become a doctor. The industrialist’s son becomes an industrialist. The difference here is that they are educated. They have to go to education. Here, I don’t have a problem,”

“We all find our place in the industry. The industry has been very kind to me. I have never had a problem. If someone does get an extra opportunity, it’s fine. Can’t be sour about it. You just have to chill out and do your work. Look at how good you are, rather than looking at someone else and seeing how good or bad they are. Look inside your own house and see how you can get better,” he added.

John Abraham’s latest The Diplomat hit the big screens on March 14. The film has opened to a positive response at the box office.
