Khushi Kapoor To Star In Sequel Of Sridevi’s Last Movie Mom? Boney Kapoor Spills The Beans



Sridevi starrer Mom which released in 2017 captivated audience for it plot and brilliant performance by the cast. The film received rave reviews and is still loved by netizens. Recently, at IIFA event in Jaipur, filmmaker Boney Kapoor revealed details about the sequel of Mom and high chances are that his daughter Khushi Kapoor will likely play a key role in it.

During media interaction, Boney Kapoor said, “I have seen all of Khushi’s films. Archies, Loveyappa and even her recent film Nadaaniyaan. I am planning to make a film with her after No Entry. It could be Mom 2”.

Khushi Kapoor was recently seen in Nadaaniyan alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film released on OTT platform Netflix on March 7. It also starred Suniel Shetty, Dil Mirza, Jugal Hansraj and Mahima Chaudhry among others.

According to a report in Sacnilk, Mom earned ₹ 37.28 crore in India, while worldwide the gross collection was ₹ 65 crore. Mom is helmed by Ravi Udyawar and released in cinemas on July 7, 2017. The thriller starred Sajat Ali, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshyae Khanna, Adnan Siddiqui and Abhimanyu Singh among others.

It tells the story of Devki, a biology teacher, seeks help from DK, a private detective, and vows to get revenge after her stepdaughter’s rapists are acquitted by the court. The movie has an intriguing story and Sridevi gave one of her most memorable performances in the film. She also won the National Film Award for Best Actress. Interesting act about Mom is that it marked the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali. According to reports, Mom was shot during the Uri attack, hence, the makers were forced to shift their shooting location from Delhi to Bangkok to avoid controversy.
