Actress Sana Makbul is best known for her roles in TV shows including Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Vish. In a recent interaction, Sana recently opened up about her health crisis and how she might have to face for whole life.
During Bharti Singh’s podcast, Sana Makbul shared that, “I have turned vegan recently due to health reasons. A lot of people don’t know that I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient. I have a liver disease, it was diagnosed in 2020. It has no specific symptoms. In this, my body cells are attacking the organ. So in my case, it’s sometimes lupus; it hits your kidneys or causes arthritis. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has myositis, which is a muscle condition. I have it with the liver.”
Sana Makbul further said, “I take steroids, suppressants, or some medicines. It’s a lifestyle disorder, but with the autoimmune condition, the liver condition is a tricky thing. My health keeps fluctuating, I don’t know if this can be cured completely.”
According to a report in NIH, Autoimmune hepatitis refers to chronic and progressive inflammation of the liver from an unknown cause. An environmental trigger, and failure of the native immune system resulting in chronic inflammation of hepatocytes and subsequent fibrosis of the liver.
Sana Makbul began her career in modelling and her first appearance on TV was on reality show MTV Scooty Teen Diva. She has been part of popular shows including Ishaan:Sapno Ko Away Do, Kitani Mohabbat Hai 2, Arjun and Aadat Se Majboor.
Sana Makbul made her reality show debut with Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, where she was a semi-finalist. She has also taken part in the reality show – Bigg Boss OTT 3 and entered as the winner. Not only in TV shows, Sana Makbul has featured in films as well- Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, Mama O Chandamama and Rangoon.
