Dragon BO Collection Day 17: Pradeep Starrer Beats Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi, Becomes 2025’s Highest-Grossing Tamil Film



Dragon Box Office Collection: Pradeep Ranganathan starrer has been performing well at the box office even after entering its third week. The movie collected ₹31.9 crore in the domestic market at the conclusion of ₹82.2 crore nett in India. Now, the third-weekend collection has beaten Ajith Kumar starrer Vidaamuyarchi’s domestic box office collection.

The coming-of-age comedy-drama directed by Ashwath Marimuthu minted ₹3 crore on Sunday. Adding the 17th-day collection the total stands at ₹90.90 crore nett, per Sacnilk. Dragon had an overall 28.87 per cent Tamil occupancy on Sunday with the maximum reported in Chennai (38 per cent). Including the taxes, the gross collection of the movie has peaked at ₹107.01 crores taking an impressive 0.72 per cent lead. With ₹137.41 crore at the worldwide box office, the has become the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025, beating Vidaamuyarchi.

Vidaamuyarchi wrapped its global theatrical run at just ₹136.41 crore.

The film stars Pradeep in the titular role, alongside Kayadu Lohar, Anupama Parameswaran, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and K. S. Ravikumar. In the film, after a devastating breakup, troubled student Ragavan abandons his studies and enters the dangerous world of financial fraud, pursuing wealth and power while becoming entangled in escalating deception.

The film was released on February 21 and now reports are rife that the movie is likely to make its debut on OTT after a month of release. It is likely to stream on March 28 on Netflix in multiple languages. However, the official confirmation by the streamer and the makers is still awaited.
