One of the most anticipated sequels in the coming time is Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD. After the Nag Ashwin directorial made over ₹1000 crore at the global box office and emerged as one of the biggest hits last year, all eyes are on when part 2 of the sci-fi franchise will begin shoot. The director has not lined up anything officially and is reportedly planning to take the film on the floors in June this year. There are rumours of Nag Ashwin working with Alia Bhatt on another project, but an official confirmation in that regard is awaited.
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD sequel may go on the floors later this year. The team has already teased a bigger scale for part 2, given the commercial success of the first installment and now, things may move fast if pre-production is in place. There are also rumours that Nagi may begin shooting for Kalki sequel without Prabhas. An initial schedule featuring Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan is being planned to kickstart things officially on the project.
Prabhas has been occupied with his other projects – The Raja Saab and Fauji. He has also bounced back from an ankle injury which required surgery. Since Prabhas is already filming for his other projects, makers thought it best to proceed with other actors’ portions and bring in the Baahubali star later.
Earlier, Salaar sequel also went on the floors without Prabhas joining the shoot. Apart from the four highly anticipated movies, he is also attached to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and a mystery project with Hanu-Man director Prashanth Varma.
