Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra emerged as the worst grosser of 2024. The movie received flak after the failure of the film. In a recent conversation, the actress opened up about the box office debacle.
Alia Bhatt broke her silence on Jigra’s performance. In an interview with Jay Shetty, Alia said, “I’m a very passionate actor, professional, professional, producer. I’m passionate about that. I have dreams with regard to my work, which I don’t think ever end. I don’t think I’m ever comfortable and I really like that about mind”.
Alia further said, “I had a film released next year that didn’t do really well and that’s given me a new vigour for a new dream to try and do over. It’s something I feel very charged by. So, that’s the professional dream”.
For the unversed, Jigra released in theatres on October 11, 2024. Helmed by Vasan Bala, the film also starred Vedang Raina, Vivek Gomber, Aditya Nanda, Rahul Ravindran and Akansha Ranjan among others. According to a report in Sacnilk, Jigra minted ₹31.98 crore in India, and world-wide it collected ₹56.93 crore.
Alia is busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She will also be seen in Alpha, co-starring Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol. She is also in talks with Abhishek Pathak for his next movie Housewife.
Alia is reportedly in talks with Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin for his next project. She is currently in advance talks with the director and might seal the deal soon, per Pinkvilla. A source told Pinkvilla that Alia has been approached for the lead role and currently they are sorting out the dates as she has given a major chunk to Bhansali’s Love & War.
