Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scripted history on Saturday as he became the youngest player to represent India in men’s T20Is during the second T20I against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. The 15-year-old surpassed the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar to mark a memorable milestone in Indian cricket. While his stay at the crease was brief, Sooryavanshi gave fans a glimpse of his fearless batting with a brisk 14 off just 10 deliveries.Opening the innings alongside Abhishek Sharma after India elected to bat first, the youngster announced himself in spectacular fashion. His first international boundary over the ropes came against England speedster and his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer. Backing away to create room, Sooryavanshi got underneath a short delivery and lifted it cleanly over the wicketkeeper for a stunning six.He added another maximum in the following over, launching Josh Tongue deep over midwicket with a powerful slog, underlining the aggressive intent that has made him one of India’s brightest young prospects. However, England struck back in the fifth over. Will Jacks outfoxed the teenager with a flatter delivery outside off stump as Sooryavanshi charged down the track looking to attack. Beaten by the turn, he missed his attempted cut before Jos Buttler completed a sharp stumping to end the debutant’s innings.
