Who Is Sivasri Skandaprasad? Carnatic Singer Married To MP Tejasvi Surya



Sivasri Skandaprasad, a Carnatic singer, is garnering attention as she recently got married to Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya. The couple tied the knot in a simple ceremony in the presence of their families and close friends. The couple is yet to make an official announcement, but the photos from their wedding are going viral on the internet.

She is a 28-year-old Carnatic singer, a daughter of Seerkazhi Sri J Skandaprasad, a Mridangam maestro. She is known for crooning a song in Mani Ratnam’s hit Kannada version Ponniyin Selvan franchise. Apart from being a singer, she is also a trained Bharathanatyam dancer and Namasankeerthanam artist. Her LinkedIn profile describes her as a “passionate painter” and part-time “modeling”.  

She is a Founder and Director of Ahuti. Running Ahuti, an Indic experience, aims to build a stronger and visionary young India, through E-training and experience programmes.

She is a Bio-Engineering Graduate, worked on drug-induced developmental or fetal defects and has two papers published through international publications.

She has also represented India on cultural exchange tours to Denmark and South Korea as part of the Indian Centre for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The couple had an intimate wedding, followed by a grand reception at Gayatri Vihar in Bengaluru, Tejasvi’s hometown.

For the ceremony, Sivasri wore a yellow saree with a golden border and accessorised her ensemble with traditional gold jewellery. She sported nude makeup and styled her hair in a sleek bun.

He is a political leader, RSS swayamsevak and lawyer serving as a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from the Bharatiya Janata Party. At the age of 9, Surya sold his paintings and donated the amount to the Army’s Kargil fund. Just like his wife Sivasri, even he is trained in Carnatic music. He owns an NGO called Arise India, which works in the area of school education.
