EXO Member Xiumin Banned From Performing At Music Bank? Broadcast Station’s Decision Sparks Anger Among Netizens



South Korean boy band EXO member Xiumin is all set to make hi comeback with his mini album titled Interview X. But, it seems like fans have to wait a bit long for him to see performing it live. As per reports, the k-pop idol has been banned from KBS’ broadcasting station Music Bank. However, his agency has revealed the reason behind this.

According to several media reports, Xiumin’s agency claimed that despite their request to  INB100 reconsider their decision, they ignored it saying important is priority will be given to SM Entertainment artists.

Xiumin’s agency claimed that his ban from Music Bank might be due to his departure from agency SM Entertainment. This incident has sparked debate among fans on social media. Many Reddit users took to comment section and expressed their views. One user wrote, “I am surprised how SM gets away with these things, trying to sabotage an ex-artist of your agency is sick!” Another social media user wrote, “It feels like SM tends to target those ex-artists who are capable of being big on their own more. I mean, CBX finished their successful fan meeting recently. It feels like SM doesn’t like the momentum the members are having atm. Also, the reason why some say SM doesn’t want their artists to be bigger than the company.” “SM blacklisting artist who left the company ? The post could have been written 15 years ago. Same old story”, wrote the third user.

Xiumin aka Kim Min-seok is a South Korean singer and actor. For the unversed he is a member of boy band Exo, its sub-group Exo-M and leader of its sub-unit Exo-CBX. He made hie debut a solo artist in 2022.

Apart from music, he has also featured in film- Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River, web series- Exo Next Door, Failing for Challenge and CEO-dol Mart. He has also been part of television shows including Drink With God, Drink With God Season 2, Make Mate 1 and Mr Trot among others.
