Rashmika Mandanna’s Team Reacts To Claims She Denied Film Festival Invite By K’taka Congress After Dy CM ‘Threatens’ Artists

Rashmika Mandanna has found herself in a controversy after she has been accused by Karnataka Congress MLA of skipping the Bengaluru International Film Festival. Now, as per reports, the actress’ team has strongly refused the claims and issued a statement.

As per the report of News 24, a source has said that, “This bears reference to certain news reports alleging that Rashmika refused to attend the Bengaluru film festival and made derogatory statements about it and the state. The said news reports are completely false and do not have any element of truth.” The source further stated, “The statements attributed to Rashmika and the entire story about someone approaching Rashmika and she refusing to attend the Bengaluru film festival are incorrect. This statement is being issued for placing the correct facts on record and for quelling any false narratives”.

However, the Karnataka Congress MLA countered back that he has proof and said to ANI in an interaction, “It is not Rashmika’s statement but Rashmika’s team’s statement. We will release the document (proof) publicly that we had invited Rashmika to the film festival (Bengaluru Film Festival) but she refused”.

It all began when Congress MLA was at Vidhana Soudha and spoke about Rashmika Mandanna and expressed disappointment. Talking to ANI, he said “Rashmika Mandanna, who started her career with the Kannada movie Kirik Party in Karnataka, refused to attend the International Film Festival last year when we invited her. She said, ‘I have my house in Hyderabad, I don’t know where Karnataka is, and I don’t have time. I can’t come. One of our legislator friends visited her house 10–12 times to invite her, but she refused and even disregarded Kannada, despite growing up in the industry here. Shouldn’t we teach them a lesson?”.  Moreover, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also slammed the top Karnataka film industry artists. He expressed displeasure with no Sandalwood stars attending the 16th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival.

This is not the first time the actress has faced accusations of abandoning her home state. Despite making her debut with a Kannada movie, it has been accused time and again that the Pushpa fame has disassociated from the Sandalwood industry. She has reportedly steered away from the Kannada film industry and has made her mark in Tollywood and Bollywood.
