JD Vance is not fighting on social media as he used to. 'Real reason' angers White House
An NYT report claimed that JD Vance is not active on social media on Susie Wiles’ advice.

Vice President JD Vance has not been seen recently fighting off his critics on X. The real reason, as reported by the New York Times, is that White House chief of staff Susie Wiles advised him not to engage in petty social media fights as they are below his dignity. But now White House spokesperson Steve Cheung said this never happened and this is completely fake news. “This isn’t true. We denied it to the New York Times and they refused to run our quote. Complete fake news. This supposed “conversation” never happened,” Cheung said.NYT reported that Vance used to frequently scroll his phone at meetings. President Trump too posts on Truth Social a lot bur he does not reply to people online but Vance used to. “Susie Wiles, Mr Trump’s chief of staff, recently advised Mr Vance to take a break from social media, as have other officials in the West Wing, according to people familiar with those interactions, because the fighting was beneath his office,” the report said.JD Vance recently said that he took a break from X for Lent (penitential preparation for Easter, involving fasting, abstinence, and almsgiving, in imitation of Jesus Christ’s fasting in the wilderness) which began on February 18 and ended on April 2. But he said he still has not reinstalled X on his mobile.“It’s one of these things where not having that as a distraction, I think, has made me much more productive,” Vance recently said. “You’re not scrolling all the time when you get five minutes. I can actually read something, as opposed to, you know, scroll or get distracted by X.”Vance, however, said he was looking forward to reinstalling X as social media gives raw opinions. “I live in such a crazy bubble,” he explained. “I travel with Secret Service all the time. If you think about how many unplanned interactions I have in a given week, it’s close to zero, because I live in such a bubble.”“I think one of the good things about social media is that it actually exposes you to unfiltered raw opinions, and that’s one of the things that I need to hear as a political leader,” he added. “So I will definitely reinstall it, but I’ve enjoyed my little break from it.”
