Pushpa Raj Over As Chhaava Surpasses 3rd Weekend Collection Of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, Mints ₹459.50 Crore In 17 days



Chhaava Vs Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection: Chhaava became the all-time highest-grossing Hindi film in the third weekend period, beating last year’s hit, Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2. The Vicky Kaushal starrer historical period drama has now crossed the ₹450 crore mark in India, becoming a blockbuster hit.

Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 minted ₹58.5 crore in its third weekend. Chhaava surpassed it by collecting over ₹60 crore in the Friday to Sunday period which ended with ₹25 crore biz on March 2. The total collection of the film stands at ₹459 crore in 17 days. This is not only the highest-grossing historical Bollywood film but also the biggest commercial hit of Vicky’s career.

After the success of Chhaava, Vicky is onto the shoot of his next, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War opposite Alia Bhatt and Ranbir. The superhit status of Vicky’s latest has pinned more hopes on his next.

Also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, Chhaava marks Vicky Kaushal’s second collaboration with director Laxman Utekar after 2023’s family drama movie Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Vicky said he was initially “scared” about portraying such a legendary character but Utekar had complete faith in him.  

“There are certain characters that, when you get the opportunity to play them, you feel scared, wondering if you’ll be able to do justice to them. That fear comes from knowing how deeply sentiments and faith are attached to such roles,” he said. “More than living that life, understanding the culture, history and values was the biggest earning from the film and that’s something I will never forget,” he added.
