While getting dismissed by Kartik Tyagi, Bethell accidentally dropped his gold chain on the ground and walked off without noticing it.Tyagi surprised the left-hander with a sharp short ball. Bethell attempted a pull shot but only managed a top edge.

The ball hit his helmet and popped up for an easy catch back to the bowler. During the confusion, his gold chain fell onto the pitch. Moments later, Devdutt Padikkal, who walked in to bat next, spotted the chain, picked it up, and safely returned it to Bethell.The unusual incident came in a match dominated by Virat Kohli, who returned to form with a superb unbeaten century. Chasing 193, Kohli smashed 105 off 60 balls with 11 fours and three sixes to lead RCB to a six-wicket victory with five balls remaining.Kohli also shared a crucial 92-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, whose quick 39 helped steady the chase after Bethell’s early dismissal. The win lifted Bengaluru to the top of the IPL 2026 table with 16 points, edging ahead of Gujarat Titans on net run rate.Earlier, KKR posted 192/4 thanks to Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s impressive 71 and a late unbeaten 49 from Rinku Singh. Cameron Green also chipped in with 32. Kartik Tyagi was the pick of the bowlers for Kolkata with figures of 3/32, but his effort was not enough to stop RCB’s strong chase.
